Srikanth Poojari Arrest in Hubballi, BJP to Hold State Wide Protest Tomorrow
Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP chief BY Vijayendra strongly condemned the recent arrest of Hindu activist Srikant Poojari in Hubballi, who is accused of participating in a violent protest related to the Rama Janma Bhoomi issue in 1992. The incident involved the torching of a shop, and a case was registered against Srikanth and nine others.
Vijayendra criticized the Karnataka government, accusing it of selectively reopening a 31-year-old case and describing it as a targeted move. He characterized the action as “repeated proof of their anti-Hindu stance.” In response to the arrest, Vijayendra announced a statewide protest, with a particular focus on Freedom Park, scheduled for tomorrow. The protest aims to voice opposition against what he perceives as an “anti-Hindu government” and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s policies.
